Volunteer
We have many volunteer opportunities:

  • Short term volunteer, a couple weeks, a month, or more.
  • Summer Staff, May – September. Serve alongside our staff as we welcome churches and other Christian groups to our centre through our conferencing ministry.
  • Bible school volunteer, August – May. Join into our ministry of discipleship as we pour into our students.
  • Or come for a whole year!

Main areas of need are maintenance, kitchen, and domestics, but if possible, other skills will be utilized.

Staffing Needs

Bookkeeper
We are currently looking for someone to fill our Bookkeeping position. A desire to invest in students and guests is a requirement. French language to some degree is beneficial and bookkeeping experience is ideal but not essential, as on-the-job training is offered. The ideal person would be organized and have a keen eye for detail. One year and longer term positions available.  

Conference Coordinator
The Conferencing Coordinator is responsible for making connections with potential groups, arranging the retreat details, communicating information, and hosting the retreat with support from the Capernwray staff team. Requirements: fluency in French and English, verbal and written; organizational skills; attention to detail; strong communication skills; and the ability to speak in front of a group. A desire to live in community as well to personally and spiritually invest in groups, students, and other staff is essential. Training will be provided. Minimum one year contract, beginning at the end of August 2018. 

Maintenance Assistant
The maintenance assistant is a volunteer position which will work under the head of maintenance. Tasks will vary, including, routine property care, repairs, unique projects, and help for other departments. Previous experience is useful but not required. Looking for an individual who is willing to learn, able to follow instructions and work independently, also able to lift up to 50 lbs. This volunteer position is a one-year term, beginning end of August; food and housing will be provided.

A Certified Lifeguard 
is requested June through August, or shorter term.
